In South Sudan, creating safe spaces is a vital first step in transforming relations, building trust and sustainable linkages aimed at building a just and peaceful society. ONAD through this project strives to create safe spaces where youth and women groups as well as conflicting community actors can come together, express their grievances, build bridges across divides, and participate in decision making processes.

ONAD’s nonviolence and governance house (peace house) aims to:

• Create and provide a safe and friendly space for constructive dialogue to build bridges across divides for long term sustainable peace.
• Bring together adversary parties to share their grievances and forge ways to manage and resolve their differentness. This includes bringing together diverse community members including pastoralists and farmers, traditional, religious and political leaders.
• Encourage a bottom up approach to democratic governance that supports sustainable peace through real practice of democratic governance where grassroots play active roles to shape their present and future aspirations through policy and law reviews and hold themselves and their leaders and representatives to account.

The foundation level, ground columns and slapping are all completed by 30th September 2018. The project is being administered by the qualified, experienced  and legally registered Tip top Construction Company LTD. The company provides technical expertise, machinery,  materials and labor for the construction as per the approved drawing and specifications. The construction is being funded through donations from individuals, foundations and charitable organizations.
